"OH....we're halfway there...oh, livin' on a prayer"

Last Tuesday I went for my 20 week ultrasound. It's crazy to me that I'm more than halfway through this pregnancy (kind of a scary thought!).  The whole thing still seems kind of surreal....so it was nice to get more of a confirmation than just the heartbeat and see that the little bumps and pokes in my belly are actually a baby and not gas :-)

Here's Little Bean again...a nice profile shot.

The "alien" view that freaks Seth out...you can also see the arm up next to the face.

A little foot :-)  I remember getting a similar picture when I went for Levi's 20 week ultrasound

Apparently "he" is a little camera shy! The tech was trying hard to get a good 3D picture of the face, but both arms were up across the face. Hopefully "he" changes "his" mind about the whole camera thing or "he" could be in a bit of trouble with me and my shutterbug ways!

The tech told me that everything looks great.  She looked at the kidneys and let me know that they were fine (I was wondering after my experience with Levi).  The baby's heartbeat was 158 bpm and the baby measure about 14 oz.  I didn't find out the gender.  Unfortunately Seth had to work at a different site and couldn't make it to the appointment.  He wanted to find out and I wanted to wait.  I might have been swayed if he had been there, but I didn't want that "it's a boy/girl" moment to be without him.  So, it looks like we'll be waiting 19 or so weeks to find out if we're having another son or a daughter!  In the meantime we'll be praying that he/she continues to grow bigger and stronger and will stay healthy.

Congratulations on being half-way through (more now, I'm playing catch up on blog reading!!) your pregnanc. We were surprised with 3 of our 4 genders and I must admit, I enjoy that aspect of labor/delivery more because of that. :) And you look fantastic! I've always had trouble finding shirts that were long enough for me, because of my very long torso (even moreso when I'm pregnant and have a 'basketball' to cover too!) Hopefully, you don't have that problem. ;)
