"Christmas future is far away...Christmas past is past..."

Finally...after two weeks, a Christmas update!  Our Christmas weekend trip had a bit of a rocky start.  Seth came home early to get the tire fixed on ""the beast" and when he went to start it up it wouldn't turn over.  A new starter and quite a few hours under the hood in the cold and rain and we were good to go...thankfully!  We had that thing PACKED and there was no way we would've fit with everything in my car.
So, we got a little bit later of a start than we had first expected.  Thankfully "the boys" were troopers and the ride up was uneventful.  We got up to NY around dinner time and got to spend some time with Seth's sister and brother-in-law at his mom's house.  Seth's mom decided to start up an old tradition again with the boys....a birthday cake for Jesus.  Levi was excited to help blow out candles again (notice I kept him a safe distance away!)

Christmas Eve was a busy one.  Our good friends, Phil and Kathy, were also in the area visiting family so we had a chance to meet up with them for lunch and hang out for a bit.  When we got back to Seth's mom's, my parents had just arrived (so nice to spend Christmas with them again this year!) and we went over to see some trains at Bev's friend's house.  Back to the house for a quick nap for the Little Man and then off to Seth's cousin's for dinner and then to his best friend's to exchange gifts and spend a little time together.

Christmas morning arrived and like years past we went to Seth's aunt and uncle's house on the farm for breakfast...the smell of bacon welcomed us as we got out of the car...gifts and lots of laughs.

After breakfast at the farm, we had round 2 of presents at Seth's mom's.  Levi was pretty excited about his new scooter and Spiderman helmet from Grammy and Grampy.  Both the boys did really well opening gifts and waiting patiently to open the ones that were theirs.  Later that evening Seth's aunt, uncle and cousins came back to the house for dinner and to hang out.

We thought we'd head back to our house on Monday...we figured five adults, two 2 year-olds and a puppy in one house things might be a little crazy.  Thankfully the boys were getting along well, Fonz was still doing great (even with David sticking his fingers up his nose!) and we had all slept relatively well...so we wound up staying an extra day.  Seth's mom had been working so hard on Christmas day it didn't seem like she got to spend much of her time with the boys.  I think hanging out with them together was probably the best Christmas gift we could have given her!

For me one of the best Christmas gifts was getting to spend the week with Seth and watching him enjoy time with the Little Man.
