I had every intention of decorating the tree last Tuesday. I figured it would be kind of a fun birthday thing to do...and Seth wasn't going to be home until late, so I needed something to keep us busy. I had strung the lights the day before, so I thought we just needed to add the ornaments and be done.

Unfortunately the perfectionist in me came out and I noticed the the tree wasn't quite straight. I tried to turn it and mess with the screws holding it in...then the whole thing started to tip, water spilled everywhere...Fonz was nearby and anxious to help clean it up! So...there I am, crouched down on the living room floor, trying to hold up a Christmas tree and block a 70+ lb. puppy from getting under the tree. Thankfully Levi stayed on the loveseat and I was able to push the tree back up and lean it against a piece of furniture until Seth got home. Oh, the joys of having a real tree!
Thankfully, Seth managed to fix the tree when he got home on Wednesday night and Levi and I decorated it. Of course it's always an adventure with a two and a half year old.
As I put a Santa Claus ornament on Levi informed that "E-i not wike Santa too much...wike mommy and daddy more". A few smashed Christmas balls and one bloody finger (Levi didn't even notice that he had gotten cut!) later it was done.
I put the star on top last and made a big deal out of it. Levi smiled and said "Good job with the star, mommy"..."looks nice, mommy, you did nice job". Then he proceeded to do this...

I totally thought Levi was licking the ornaments too :) My girls decorated my mom's tree last week, and let's just say, it looks really "amazing" on the bottom half!
